Dr. Muriungi has worked in higher education and organizations advocating for children’s/human rights and sustainable development in Africa and the United States. She was Deputy Head of HR Management at the UN Development Program in Kenya prior to pursuing her Ph.D. in the US. Her research interests include higher education of underserved populations, women’s leadership, organizational leadership and development, humanitarianism, forcibly displaced persons, and small business development.

As the Founding CEO of Kipawa-TLD, Dr Rosemary Muriungi (Ph.D.) has a rich career as an educator, leadership scholar, and industry practitioner in Africa and the United States of America.
In Kenya, she has worked as a Lecturer at Strathmore University. In the United States, she has worked as a Professor of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University and as a Market Intelligence Researcher at Washington State University where she also engaged in business advising.
Dr Muriungi’s career as an industry practitioner has largely been in Operations Management and as a People & Culture Champion in the international development world where she has worked for international Non-Governmental Organizations (I-NGOs) such as Plan and global organizations such as The United Nations (UN).
Dr. Muriungi aspires to foster human development and nurture human potential in all her endeavors—specifically that of women, youth, and others under-served or marginalized by society. She believes that “growth” in individuals and institutions should evolve at the same pace the world is changing.
Dr Muriungi draws from professional expertise and experience to help people and institutions thrive in their respective roles, professions, and mandates to enhance organizational culture and operational effectiveness through training, coaching, mentoring, and leads to key resources / networks.
She is the founding CEO of Kipawa-Talent & Leadership Development LLC and has served on Education and nonprofit organization Boards both in Kenya and the United States where she was the Board President of Partnering for Progress (P4P).
As a scholar, she has published on women leadership, women in the boardroom, leadership of higher education at the margins, and how the information age and digital transformation is shaping organizational structures and Leadership.
